Dr. Jimmy Spire Ssentongo is a Ugandan academic, editorial cartoonist, writer, and human rights activist. An Associate Professor of Ethics at Uganda Martyrs and Makerere University and columnist for The Observer, he is known for his sharp satire and digital campaigns such as the #KampalaPotholeExhibition and #UgandaParliamentExhibition, which exposed corruption and governance failures. He is also the co-founder of Agora Discourse, a digital Public Square advancing public accountability and citizen empowerment in Uganda. His work has earned him top honors, including the EU Human Rights Defenders Award (2024) and the U.S. Anti-Corruption Champion Award (2024).
